The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind with starting a new job, finishing my move, and a family wedding and visits!
The new postdoc job in industry so far has been great – I’ve been doing a lot of reading of papers and safety trainings, and just loving the atmosphere. I’ve been meeting so many people and learning a lot. I’m pretty proud of myself for catching on and understanding the new projects pretty fast. It’s a bit refreshing, and has rekindled my love for research! Check out my Instagram feed for daily updates.
Within the craziness that has been adjusting to a new job and commute, my cousin from Cyprus got married in New York City, so I had a mini weekend getaway with my family, driving down to Long Island, and celebrating all weekend! I had a hard time deciding what to wear, as all of my things and clothes are still packed up from my move – I had to find something formal yet not too formal to wear to the pre-wedding party on Friday Night. I decided to wear this Floral Tea Length Vintage Swing Dress from SammyDress with nude heels, and it was perfect. I really loved the fitted top and the flouncy swing skirt. It was super comfortable and such a pretty pattern. It was a really fun night seeing my family from Cyprus – it was 2 years since I last saw them!
This dress was really easy to style – the pattern was busy enough I just put simple nude heels, and could just put simple accessories like a simple bracelet, simple earrings, and a simple necklace if any. If I had a solid colored dress I would put more of a statement necklace, but I decided to just go simple with the accessories here!

Seems that this dress is currently sold out, so here are some similar dresses to shop, but you can find similar dresses and similar prices on the Sammy Dress site!
I realized how important it is to spend time with your family and close friends. I had really missed my family, and distance plays a huge role in this – but I want to put more effort into daily texts and video calls to keep in better touch! Although it can get hard to keep up with such busy schedules and time differences.
Hope you all have a great week, and I will have another post with my new job tips and revelations!
